Defines the technological strategy in conjunction with the Front and Backend development teams of each project: pipeline, tools, and key development procedures.

Assesses technical risk and mitigation plan.

Establishes standards and procedures to track and measure project's progression.

Evaluates development team(s), identifying strengths, problem areas, and developing plans for improving performance.

Evaluates interview candidates for technical positions.

Scouts for and evaluates new technology and tools as opportunities for innovation and development excellence.

Oversees technical design documentation process for correctness and timeliness.

Oversees and coordinates systems requirements to support all technical solutions. 

Provides input to the other disciplines on the practicality of initial design goals and impact to the overall project timeline.

Evaluates software implementation on design and task thoroughness

Helps to identify high risk areas for the Project Team

Identifies weak systems that need code improvement and schedules corrective action, when possible.

Creates test process for development, where possible, and contributes to the build system.

Aids in all stages of post-production including during finalising

Will work closely with broader directorial team to deliver against the agency strategy 


  • Minimum 2:1 degree in a technical discipline
  • 5 years C# / .Net Development experience  2.0, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 (Web forms, Web services)
  • Microsoft SQL 2005 / 2008
  • 7 years of demonstrable CMS development experience - Sitefinity, Sitecore, Umbraco
  • 5 years digital agency experience
  • Fully competent across Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Strong skills with C# .Net and SQL Server 
  • Development methodologies i.e. Agile, Waterfall, MVC
  • A sound level of sys admin knowledge and server management including hosting architectures and IIS
  • An understanding of ‘front end’ - HTML, CSS, Java, jQuery and Flash.

  • Demonstrable experience LEADING teams of developers – front end and backend
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering multiple large scale projects ( £250,000+) concurrently
