Mercury may no longer be in retrograde (for now), but that doesn’t mean the internet hasn’t stopped eating up the astrology age. Yes, we said it. Astrology is having a MOMENT. Previously, the New Age movement of the 1960s and 1970s made following zodiac signs incredibly popular. Even after the ’70s, you could still regularly find horoscopes in the backs of magazines. Now, Millennials and Gen Z’ers alike have certainly moved the needle in smearing astrology memes across the internet and social media, and we are here for it.
Believe it or not, astrology is not actually a science, but rather a logic. Astrologers assign meaning to the placement of the sun, the moon, and the planets within the 12 sections of the sky, making up the 12 zodiac signs. And just as astrologers boil down these complex concepts into digestible snippets of knowledge via horoscopes, we’ve decided to follow suit with content marketing tactics.
While our personality traits, life cycles, and relationship patterns might not be written in the stars, there’s something to be said about the traits assigned to our zodiac signs. Likewise, the traits attributed to each sign can be applied to the big wide world of content. In order to better understand the benefits of various types of content, we’ve looked at these tactics through the lens of the zodiac.

As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries marks the start of something exciting and energetic. Never one to back down from a challenge, those born under the sign of Aries always want to come in the first place. This competitive spirit lends themselves to always being ahead of the curve and asking the question of “what’s next?” While Arieses have to be on to the next best thing before it’s the next best thing, so too does video. This type of content is great for showcasing what’s new and interesting with a brand or product. Video will soon dominate the social media sphere, meaning Aries probably already has a few videos up their sleeve.
Those born under Taurus are strong, well-grounded, and uncompromising, much like the bull toiling for the fruit of their labors. As one of the most reliable and intriguing signs of the zodiac, once a Taurus has a game plan mapped out, they intend to see it all the way through. Likewise, the characteristics of Taurus are those of paid ads as well. If Taurus is the bull of the zodiac, then paid ads are the bulls of content strategy. Eye-catching social ads grab the audience’s attention and can provide productive results. A paid ad strategy is the perfect content strategy when a campaign needs a strong game plan with real results. For paid ads, it’s slow and steady wins the race – much like patient Taurus.
As the adage goes, “two is better than one.” And for those born under the zodiac sign of Gemini, the saying holds. Geminis often feel they are being pulled in many directions, often wishing they would never have to experience FOMO again – if only there were two of them! As masters of communication, Geminis are those friends at the party who never seem to stop talking with their quick-wittedness and sociability. Just like Gemini’s ability to connect with everyone, so too does organic social. This content strategy allows content marketers to test out different styles and tones, much like the dual personalities of Gemini. Organic social is also a great way for brands to connect on a more personal level with their customers, just as Gemini’s are always trying to connect with those around them.
When first meeting a Cancer, they can be quite difficult to get to know due to their intuitive and sentimental nature. But once you’ve cracked their shells, Cancers can be one of the most loyal, sympathetic, and persuasive friends you’ll ever have. In that same vein, email newsletters can be difficult for readers to digest since some newsletters contain almost much or not enough interesting content. By curating a newsletter that inspires and engages with your audience, the more likely your contacts will trust your solution. They might even continue to subscribe, or better yet, purchase and recommend your newsletter to others.
The leader of the pack – Leo 🦁 Those born under Leo are said to be 👩🎨 creative, 😂 humorous, and 🤪 outgoing. As natural-born leaders, Leos use these 🗝 characteristics to unify different groups of 👩👳👴 people towards a shared 🏆. On the flip side of that, Leos can also be quite 🎭 and sometimes a tad 😴 . These Leo traits also 💍 true for the universal, often lazy, fun language of emojis. Because why use words when small, colorful pictures will do the trick?! 🤷♀️ Much like when Leo enters a conversation, use emojis when your content strategy needs a little extra creativity ✨!
For Virgos, there’s no truer statement than “the devil is in the details.” Virgos are always examining the minutest of details, making them one of the more cautious zodiac signs. Their methodical and analytical approach to life ensures nothing is up to chance, but can still be open and ready to experience something new. Similarly, case studies rely on research and data to extrapolate insights for the future. With these insights, new strategies and priorities can form. Virgos and case studies look at the holistic picture in order to inform their decisions, whether it be in life or in a content strategy.
Libras enjoy sharing with others, sort of like a human blog. Libra is an air sign, giving these individuals strong intellect and a keen mind. Leave it to Libras to use this intellect to spread their wealth of knowledge. Likewise, blog content helps your audience solve a problem, empowering them through education.
The resourceful Scorpio thrives on discovering facts. They are determined and decisive and will research until they find the truth. Just as Scorpios show greater empathy and commitment when they develop a sense of trust with others, white papers offer prospective customers in-depth research that helps move them further down the funnel towards a purchase decision. White papers are a great way to entice customers to commit to the products or solutions your company offers and encourage them to become loyal to your brand.
As the comedians of the zodiac, Sagittariuses are brilliant at brightening up a room with their exuberant energy. Just like GIFs, their enthusiasm is easily digestible and often times very well-received. Following in the Sags footsteps, GIFs allow you to tell a compelling story and spark an interest in your brand, encouraging customers to explore your offerings.
With a tactful, can-do attitude, Capricorns are natural-born leaders. They are also great at taking action and making realistic plans. Likewise, script copy leads the way in the process of creating great video content. Just as a video script helps manage a video content strategy, Capricorns are great at managing others and staying grounded. For these reasons, the Caps are no strangers to success. Prioritizing script copy for your video content will lead to a more successful marketing strategy and keep your audience engaged.
Those born under the Aquarius sign are deep thinkers who love helping others. Ever the intellectual beings, Aquarians thrive on openness, communication, and imagination. By the same token, successful podcasts are reliant on effective and engaging communication between the host and the guests. If you want your podcast to take off, follow in the Aquarians’ footsteps and be original and authentic with the content you discuss.
As the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces have absorbed every lesson learned from all of the other signs. This makes Pisces very wise and intuitive. Similarly, infographics are ideal for communicating a lot of information in a simple way while still showing expertise in a certain area. In addition to being intuitive, Pisces have artistic talent, coinciding perfectly with the visual appeal of infographics. By implementing infographics into your content marketing strategy, you have the opportunity to increase brand awareness, go viral, even increase your search marketing results.
