Welcome back to this week’s TEAM LEWIS Social Round-Up. Meta is stuffing even more AI into its ads. Edits just dropped a Stranger Things font that every brand will absolutely overuse, including us. Instagram now lets you add links to Reels if you pay up, TikTok shows why creators still outperform everything else, Facebook is turning Groups into Reddit, and WhatsApp is booting out every non-Meta AI chatbot.
Let’s get into it 👇

🤖 Meta bakes even more AI into its ads
Meta is rolling more Advantage+ tools directly into the main Ads Manager flow, which means AI-driven optimisation is now the default, not an optional upgrade. Audience, placements, and budget recommendations are automatically enabled, all guided by a new Opportunity Score that grades your setup from 0 to 100. In short, Meta is taking more of the wheel and says results speak for themselves, thanks to huge compute power and prediction models across three billion users. This is great for marketers, less time tinkering with manual targeting and more time feeding the machine with strong creative. 👉 Read more
🎥 Edits adds masking tools, volume ducking and a Stranger Things font
Meta’s Edits app continues its weekly glow-up with new masking controls for cleaner transitions, a “volume ducking” feature to keep your voiceover from being drowned out by music, and a Stranger Things font that is about to dominate timelines for months. The new tools help creators polish storytelling inside the app, making edits a surprisingly powerful companion for quick-turn content, especially during Stranger Things season, when every brand is itching to go Upside Down. 👉 Read more
🔗 Instagram and Facebook let you add links to Reels, but only if you pay
Meta is introducing a Reels link perk for Meta Verified subscribers. Standard plans get zero linkable Reels; Plus gets two; Premium gets four; and Max gets six per month. Everyone else gets nothing. For brands and creators, this is Meta’s not-so-subtle push to make “Verified” part of the conversion toolkit, which means Reels might become a more valuable traffic driver again, but only behind a paywall. 👉 Read more
🎨 TikTok says creator-led content outperforms everything
Influencers are big, shock…TikTok’s latest report shows creator-led ads deliver dramatically stronger outcomes, including a 70% higher CTR and 159% higher engagement for the same CPM. Why. Because creators instinctively shape stories through TikTok culture, can turn around large volumes of content quickly and bring audience trust that brand channels lack. Creator content is no longer a nice-to-have. It is the engine room of performance, and TikTok One is the platform’s recommended home for sourcing creators, agencies and scaled campaigns. 👉 Read more
🧩 Facebook Groups get Reddit-style usernames
Facebook Groups now support nicknames so users can post under a chosen handle instead of their real name. It keeps privacy intact while still allowing people to build a presence others can follow, which makes Groups behave more like Reddit or Discord. Posts and comments tie together into a visible nickname history, and admins still see real profiles. If you’re running communities, expect livelier participation because members can contribute without revealing their identity while still feeling part of the group. Good news for some people, John from Sydney… 👉 Read more
🚫 ChatGPT and Copilot leave WhatsApp
WhatsApp is updating its business API rules, so AI chatbots not made by Meta can no longer operate on the platform. As a result, ChatGPT and Copilot will disappear on 15 January 2026. Meta says WhatsApp should not be used to distribute standalone AI chatbots and wants to prevent rivals from reaching users through its ecosystem. A clear move toward Meta AI becoming the default assistant inside WhatsApp and part of Meta’s strategic moat. 👉 Read more
🔧 Quick Tip of the Week
TikTok is doubling down on creators, so if you are not already partnering with them, start small. Try one creator, one brief and one piece of content per month and build from there. It is the fastest way to increase volume, authenticity and relevance without burning out your internal team.
