The TEAM LEWIS Social Round-Up is back, we’re still reading the platform updates so you don’t have to. You’re welcome 😉.

This week: Instagram makes Notes even louder, Edits even better, and LinkedIn even more of a video playground. WhatsApp’s trying to read your group chats (with consent, allegedly), X is charging per pixel, TikTok wants its own broadcast channels, and YouTube Create is finally getting an iPhone invite.

Plus, our campaign picks include DNA-infused iced tea and a beautifully analogue reminder to look up.

    Let’s get into it 👇

📣 Instagram Adds Background Colours and Emojis to Notes

Because nothing says important message like a neon emoji cloud. Instagram’s giving Notes more flair, now you can add background colours and an emoji to your floating inbox thoughts. Notes are still a hit with younger users, so expect more colour in your DMs. Will it save Notes? Probably not. But it’ll make them harder to ignore. 👉 Learn More

🎬 Instagram’s Edits App Gets Serious with Keyframes

Meta is really throwing everything at Edits, and we’re not mad. Keyframe editing now lets you precisely tweak visuals, text, stickers, and cutouts. Throw in new voice tools, text effects, and improved “Ideas” features, and this app is edging closer to CapCut’s territory. It’s still free… for now. 👉 Learn More

🤖 WhatsApp Wants to Summarise Your Chats With AI

Meta AI can now summarise your group messages so you don’t have to scroll through 84 “where are you?” texts. Called “Message Summaries,” it’s designed to speed up your catch-ups, and comes with plenty of “don’t worry, it’s private” disclaimers. Whether users actually trust it is another question entirely. 👉 Learn More

📏 X Will Start Charging for Taller Ads (and Ditch Hashtags)

Elon’s next big swing? Ads on X will cost more based on vertical size. Giant, screen-hogging ads = higher prices. Also: hashtags in ads are now “an aesthetic nightmare” and will be banned. Expect ad creatives to start slimming down, and maybe shouting less. 👉 Learn More

📢 TikTok Is Testing “Bulletin Boards”

Basically broadcast channels — but TikTokified. Creators and brands can share one-way updates with followers via text, image, or video. No replies, just reactions. Still in testing, but it’s another push toward more creator-brand tools and direct comms. 👉 Learn More

    🫣 Threads Adds Spoiler Tags

You can now mark text or media as spoilers on Threads.
Perfect if you’re the only one who hasn’t watched the finale of anything ever. When you post, just tap “Mark Spoiler” and hide away. 👉 Learn More

📱 YouTube Create Is Coming to iOS (Finally)

After two years of Android exclusivity, YouTube Create is being built for iPhone.
It’s still miles behind CapCut, but it’s growing, especially in India and Southeast Asia. Expect editing battles to heat up when Apple users join the party. 👉 Learn More

📽 LinkedIn Rolls Out Video Covers for Newsletters and Articles

LinkedIn’s turning up the volume on video, literally.
You can now add 30-second video headers to articles and newsletters. Great for grabbing attention, especially since video gets 20x more shares and 1.4x more engagement on the platform. 👉 Learn More

🔥 Quick Tip of the Week

Start prepping short video covers for your next LinkedIn post or newsletter. It doesn’t need to be polished, just make it engaging and under 30 seconds. It’s a small change that could make a big impression.

📸 Polaroid Says “Look Up” with a Lo-Fi NYC Campaign

Forget filters. This IRL takeover tells you to stop scrolling and start living. It’s bold, simple, and oh-so nostalgic. 👉 Check it Out

🩸 Liquid Death Infuses Tea with Ozzy Osbourne’s DNA

Yes, actual Ozzy DNA. No, we’re not kidding. It’s terrifying and brilliant. 👉 Check it Out

    Opportunities to celebrate this week

    And next…

That’s a wrap for this week!

Go test a new edit in Edits, maybe tag your next Notes update with an emoji explosion, and prepare to explain to clients why their tall X ads now cost more.

Need help navigating all these platform changes? Or want to throw some DNA into your next brand campaign? (Please don’t.)

Either way, we’d love to help.

Same time next week? Bye! 👋
