Welcome back to this week’s TEAM LEWIS Social Round-Up. This week, LinkedIn launched a Career Hub, Meta’s giving Facebook Dating an AI wingman, and Instagram is tightening its teen protections. Plus: YouTube adds smarter comment filters and auto-highlights, Snapchat shares a wild selfie stat, and TikTok maps how luxury shoppers really buy.
Let’s get into it 👇
Latest News
🎓 LinkedIn launches Career Hub (skills, mobility, role guides)
LinkedIn’s new Learning Career Hub helps teams spot trending skills, map internal mobility, and follow clear Role Guides to upskill toward specific jobs. It pulls profile data and industry benchmarks to highlight gaps, then points you to relevant courses, with a focus on AI literacy via unlocked pathways through November. For employers and talent, it’s a tidy “learn → apply → move” loop. 👉 Read LinkedIn’s announcement
❤️ Meta rolls out a Facebook Dating assistant
Facebook Dating is introducing a chat assistant to refine matches based on interests and prompts (“find me a Sydney guy that does Social Round Ups”), as well as Meet Cute, a surprise match powered by Meta’s algorithm. Meta says young-adult conversations are up and matches are rising, which is handy for discovery, although brands will watch how “assistant-crafted” personas are implemented in practice. 👉 Get your dating profile ready
🛡️ IG expands teen protections + updates age detection
Instagram is advancing AI-based age signals (follows, interactions, birthdays, etc.) to auto-limit under-18 accounts, and defaulting Canadian teens <16 into advanced security mode (parent-controlled). As countries trial stricter youth rules, the bigger story is standardisation; AI age detection may become the de facto benchmark for platforms. 👉 Read about Meta’s safety update
▶️ YouTube adds comment filters + live auto-highlights
Creators can now filter by “new replies to your response” and sort by newest to keep conversations moving, with saved default filters on Studio Mobile. After streams, YouTube will automatically pick Shorts-worthy highlights, allowing you to publish quick recaps and drive replays. Connected TV search also gets smarter with channel-context results. 👉 Watch the announcement
🤳 Snapchatters took over a trillion selfies in 2024
Snap says users created well over one trillion selfie Snaps last year across its 930M-plus community, more than double Apple’s iPhone selfie count. It’s a great reminder that Snap remains a core daily camera language for younger users, even as growth slows in older demographics. Lenses and AI tools continue to fuel expression in the kids. 👉 Learn more about the numbers
💎 TikTok’s playbook for luxury brands (identity > flaunt)
A recent study suggests that luxury on TikTok is more about emotional identity than status flex. Users save luxury content, visit sites, and convert at solid rates, especially when brands “listen, lure, loop, and lift” with creator-led remixes. TL;DR: lean into feel-first storytelling and community cues over glossy perfection. 👉 See TikTok’s overview
🔧 Quick Tip of the Week
YouTube Live x Shorts in 3 moves:
- Turn on auto-highlights to Shorts after each stream to capture momentum.
- Set default comment filters (“new replies to your response”) so you never miss follow-ups.
- Prep one pinned chat prompt (CTA or poll) before going live to spark early engagement.
✨ Campaigns We Love ✨

📺 Channel 4 – “Trump v The Truth” hijack
Channel 4 let a Trump impersonator hijack its promos and socials, turning continuity into chaos. Satirical scripts blurred the line between parody and marketing, confusing, shareable, and unmistakably C4. 👉 What’s the truth?

🚆 South Western Railway – “It pays to be kind”
Body-cam footage frames overlaid on OOH portraits convey a simple, yet hard-to-ignore message about staff abuse and its consequences. Stark visuals, crystal-clear behaviour change. 👉 Check out the campaign
