It’s finally here — Instagram has officially launched its Edits app, and this time it’s real. (Unlike when I confidently announced it a couple of months ago and it didn’t show up… awkward.) Thankfully, the wait was worth it, and the early numbers are big. Meanwhile, Meta has opened Threads up to ads, Facebook’s cleaning up spammy content, LinkedIn is giving Premium Pages a boost, and Snapchat wants creators to help sell ads. Plus, a couple of brilliant new brand campaigns to round it all out. Let’s dive in 👇

🎬 Instagram’s Edits App Launches with a Bang
After a two-month delay, Instagram’s Edits app is finally here, and it’s smashed early expectations. Designed as a CapCut competitor, Edits had over 7 million downloads in just three days, outperforming CapCut’s launch by a whopping 37x. Built for mobile-first editing, it packs AI animation, overlays, 4K exports, and watermark-free videos. Critics say it’s missing some advanced features for now, but the built-in analytics and export options straight to Reels give it a serious edge. Early days, but Meta’s strong network effect is clearly working. 👉 Read More
📢 Meta Opens Up Threads Ads Globally
Meta has fast-tracked ads on Threads, opening them up to all eligible advertisers globally after just three months of testing. Brands can now buy placements through Advantage+ or manually, although most advertisers are taking a cautious, upper-funnel approach for now. Early feedback suggests the need for more conversation-style creative to match the Threads vibe, rather than just shoving traditional Meta ads in. It’s early days, but if performance is decent, budgets could shift quickly. 👉 Read More
🧹 Facebook Cracks Down on Spammy Content
In a bid to make Facebook a more enjoyable place, Meta is taking aggressive action against spammy accounts, clickbait captions, and repetitive content. Accounts using excessive hashtags, distracting text, or fake engagement networks will now see reach reductions, and monetisation hits. Meanwhile, authentic creators will get a boost, with more focus on original content and stronger protections against impersonators. Over 100 million fake pages were removed last year alone. Real conversations are officially back on the menu. 👉 Read More
🏢 LinkedIn Levels Up Premium Company Pages
LinkedIn’s Premium Company Pages are getting some flashy upgrades. Businesses can now invite followers from similar Pages (potentially boosting reach 6.7x), add dynamic cover carousels, and soon showcase awards and certifications. Premium Pages are seeing 10x more custom button clicks on average, and although it’s still early days for the feature, it could be a solid investment for brands heavily focused on LinkedIn lead generation. Pricing starts at $99/month if you’re tempted. 👉 Read More
👻 Snapchat Launches Affiliate Program for Ads
Snapchat’s new Affiliate Program lets creators and publishers earn commission by referring advertisers to Snap Ads. If the referred brand launches a campaign within 90 days, the affiliate gets paid. It’s part of Snap’s strategy to boost SMB ad growth without relying entirely on traditional sales teams. By mobilising its creator network, Snap’s hoping to widen its reach—and you can expect to see a lot more Snap Ad advocacy posts popping up soon. 👉 Read More
🔥 Quick Tip of the Week
Launching ads on Threads? Don’t just repurpose your Instagram creatives. Threads is more conversation-led, like Reddit or X, so consider making bespoke, lighter creative that feels native to scrolling chats, not just hard-sell content. Your CTR will thank you.
