Purpose of your role

As our Business Development Manager (BDM) you play a strategic role in the identification, management, and execution of new business activity. Your focus in this role is to drive and increase new business opportunities for TEAM LEWIS by identifying and proactively approaching potential prospects. You generate leads, develop pitches and ultimately, secure new clients. You also take a lead role in representing the business at conferences and networking events.


Your key responsibilities and tasks

New Business

  • Support our 2 Belgian offices (Antwerp/Brussels) in the new business process
  • Work closely with the Global Marketing Team to develop compelling content and events to drive lead generation
  • Understand and capitalise on the unique selling points of TEAM LEWIS and you can leverage these against competitor offerings
  • Develop and maintain a map of relevant businesses and organisations, making use of this knowledge to create targeted campaigns and maximise the impact of approaches
  • Write and compile compelling credentials and RFI and RFP responses to secure pitch opportunities
  • Manage and monitor pitch schedules to ensure that the process meets its deadlines

Digital / Social Media

  • Actively promote the integration of digital and creative product solutions to new clients
  • Use social media to recognise industry trends and proactively promote new tools, solutions, and processes

Teamwork and development

  • Ensure personal and deliverable objectives are met
  • Support the training of graduates and interns wherever possible
  • Regularly attend TEAM LEWIS training sessions to enhance skills and develop knowledge


  • Take a proactive role in promoting the TEAM LEWIS brand, its identity, values, and work
  • Maintain a detailed and up-to-date knowledge of industry (competitors’ and clients’) activities
  • Overall, act as a guardian of best practice

About you

  • Demonstrable success at securing new business
  • Highly commercial, with a proven track record of commercially impacting a business via lead generation and strategic client consultancy
  • Relevant experience of working in a B2B, corporate, consumer or digital communications agency environment
  • Has a solid understanding of the wider communications and marketing industry
  • Well versed in social media and the integrated selling of digital marketing within a wider communications context
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
