Campaign Coordinator, PR (Consumer)

It aims to strengthen the bonds between the creative industries, businesses, government, and non-profits. Community charities are championed by employees, who in addition to the financial donation, volunteer their time and skills to leverage effectiveness.


Purpose of the role

The Campaign Coordinator is a media-focused role that also provides administrative support to the wider Account Servicing team. The role requires the ability to handle a number of tasks and projects at any one time, working to deadlines and proactively pursuing activity. The Campaign Coordinator will develop a clear understanding of the team’s requirements and objectives, be proactive in attitude and supportive to the team at all times. This role assists the team with laying the foundational work to establish a successful account and agency/client relationship, including media scanning, media list building, reporting, awards/database management, etc.

    Key responsibilities and tasks

    Client Management

    • With guidance from the senior team, takes call notes and develops post-call actions, shares coverage, participates in calls
    • Develops relationships with clients through participation on calls and emails
    • Ensures that all account activity and results are tracked and communicated to the rest of the team, including coverage trackers and monthly reports
    • Provides reports to the management team on request
    • Coordinates communication (including meetings and reviews) with clients, adhering to deadlines and client service level agreements

    Media Relations

    • Understands and avidly follows the news agenda, positioning clients and products within context
    • Researches and identifies appropriate journalists, bloggers and analysts on an on-going basis
    • Creates media lists that includes thoughtful selection of media based on client/announcement needs and includes correct information.
    • Develops pitches to support client announcements or campaigns.
    • Thoughtfully pitches media; develops media and blogger relationships for self and on behalf of the team
    • Develops briefing documents to prepare clients for interviews
    • Monitors relevant news sources and alerts the team to relevant breaking news opportunities
    • Develops an understanding of strong news angles and media opportunities, escalating these to more senior team members


    • Drafts a broad range of written materials including biographies, briefing documents, media alerts, soundbites, Q&As, backgrounders and boilerplates
    • Creates media materials and compelling content for both traditional and digital media
    • Creates valuable and insightful briefing sheets to assist clients with their press communications
    • Focuses on improving writing ability, adapting and refining style to suit the needs of the client

    Digital / Social media

    • Uses social media platforms to expand own network, develop media and influencer relationships and positively impact client results
    • Provides social media insight as well as execution and management of related digital activity
    • Begins to show understanding of digital channels and their roles in the marketing funnel; connections to media relations, and impact
    • Drafts organic social media content and builds content calendars

    Team working and development

    • Ensures personal and deliverable client objectives are met on an on-going basis
    • Accurately reports activity levels and regularly completes timesheets to ensure correct allocation of client and team duties
    • Escalates general new business requests to appropriate team members
    • Works closely with line manager to maximize own strengths, improve weaknesses and support individual and team career development
    • Regularly attends TEAM LEWIS training sessions and daily press briefings to enhance skills and develop knowledge

    Reporting and analysis

    • Tracks and reports on media activity, including coverage reports, press clippings, online media engagement, showing progress using metrics
    • Ensures that all account activity and results are reported back to the Senior Campaign Executive / Campaign Manager / Campaign Director
    • Communicates account performance internally at account reviews
    • Provides reports to the Campaign Manager, Campaign Director or senior management team on request


    • Supports the Account Servicing team on ad hoc initiatives and projects
    • Takes a proactive role in promoting the TEAM LEWIS brand, its work, identity and values
    • Contributes and supports the continuous improvement of systems, practices and policies

    About you

    • Ideally, previous internship experience of working in a PR, marketing or digital communications environment
    • Experience with influencers or lifestyle/wellness industry is a plus
    • Attention to detail 

    • Excellent verbal and written skills
    • Creative thinker 

    • Confident presentation skills 

    • Keen interest in the media: print and broadcast 

    • Calmness under pressure and ability to achieve tight deadlines 

    • Clear interest in current affairs and news agenda

      The expected salary range for the Campaign Executive position is between $52K - $62K. Base annual salary is determined by factors such as location, experience, and expertise.
