Client Engagement Manager

Purpose of the role
The Client Engagement Manager is focused on driving growth across China. This person will support on marketing execution activity and help do lead generation. This will involve researching, networking and putting together credential decks for new business pitches. 

Key responsibilities and tasks
New Business 

  • Supports the new business process in collaboration with the regional/office leaders and playing a crucial role in selling TEAM LEWIS credentials throughout the tender process
  • Understands and capitalises on the unique selling points of TEAM LEWIS and is able to leverage these against competitor offerings
  • Works with the regional/office leaders to identify target businesses and utilises on and offline networks to establish connections with key decision makers and budget holders
  • Develops and maintains a map of relevant businesses and organisations, making use of this knowledge to create targeted campaigns and maximise the impact of approaches
  • Works in conjunction with the global marketing team to promote TEAM LEWIS as leading provider of integrated communications services
  • Writes and compiles compelling credentials, responding to RFI and RFP documents (within deadline) with the aim of securing pitch opportunities
  • Maintains an accurate database of prospects
  • Produces regular, accurate and comprehensive reports on marketing activities and lead generation efforts.

Client Engagement 

  • Manages strategic relationships with the client, providing insight and counsel across all aspects of the marketing and communications spectrum
  • Delivers an added-value consultancy and works closely with leads to proactively sell services and products across traditional and emerging communications channels 

Digital / Social Media

  • Actively promotes the integration of digital and creative product solutions to new clients, developing the uptake of services offered by TEAM LEWIS
  • Uses social media to recognise industry trends and proactively promotes new tools, solutions and processes to continuously evolve and optimise selling opportunities for TEAM LEWIS services
  • Works collaboratively with Futures Hub to increase the utilisation and selling of digital services

Team Working and Development 

  • Putting up credential/pitch team objectives and tasks with appropriate timelines
  • Helps define deliverable pitch objectives and sets standards of excellence, driving commitment from all levels of the team
  • Work closely with wider teams to maximise strengths, work on development areas and support career development


  • Runs and supports training sessions, with a view to maximising opportunities to expand team skills and grow revenues as well as on all aspects – account reviews, on-boarding, etc - related to achieving an excellent and progressive client service
  • Takes a proactive role in promoting the TEAM LEWIS brand, its identity, values and work
  • Supports the HR / talent team by promoting, both internally and externally, opportunities at TEAM LEWIS across social media and via the referral scheme
  • Maintains a detailed and up-to-date knowledge of industry (competitors’ and clients’) activities
  • Overall, acts as a guardian of best practice

About You 

  • Successful in identifying, initiating and nurturing business opportunities
  • Strong experience in lead generation, involvement in developing new business pitches and growing client revenues
  • Highly commercial, with a proven track record of commercially impacting a business via lead generation and strategic client consultancy
  • Relevant experience of working in a B2B, corporate, consumer or digital communications agency environment at a Manager or Senior Manger level
  • Has a solid understanding of the wider communications and marketing industry in China
  • Well versed in social media and the integrated selling of digital marketing within a wider communications context
  • Able to provide consultancy on comms requirements as well as broader marketing strategy
  • Considered, assertive and influential; with the skills and aptitude to successfully secure new clients
  • Strong network connection with different brands
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication and presentation skills preferably in both English and Chinese
