Purpose of the role

The Client Engagement Director plays a strategic role in the management of key regional clients and execution of new business and client upsell activity. This role is France-focused and is twofold:

  • Support new business opportunities for TEAM LEWIS by identifying and proactively approaching potential prospects
  • Drive management of key regional accounts, key campaign execution and building client relationships

Key responsibilities and tasks

New Business

  • Supports the regional head or office leader in the new business process for key prospects, playing a crucial role in selling TEAM LEWIS credentials throughout the tender process
  • Develop compelling content and events to drive lead generation and engagement for the agency across the region
  • Understands and capitalises on the unique selling points of TEAM LEWIS and is able to leverage these against competitor offerings
  • Develops and maintains a map of relevant businesses and organisations, making use of this knowledge to create targeted campaigns and maximise the impact of approaches
  • Identifies and drives cascade opportunities between practices/services and within the TEAM LEWIS network
  • Writes and compiles compelling credentials and RFI and RFP responses (within deadline) with the aim of securing pitch opportunities
  • Puts in place and monitors pitch schedules to ensure that the pitch process is on track and deadlines are met

Management of Key Regional Accounts

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with key clients, establishing self and TEAM LEWIS as an invaluable long-term partner for marketing and communications services
  • Works closely with the client and account lead to regularly review account performance, identifying and communicating opportunities for additional PR, marketing and digital services
  • Adds value to new business pitches by providing support with coordination, content generation and presentation preparation, in addition to attendance
  • Supports execution on key campaigns and provides consultative advice on tactical communications activity

Team working and development

  • Ensures personal and deliverable objectives are met on an on-going basis
  • Works closely with line manager to maximise own strengths, improve weaknesses and support individual and team career development
  • Supports with the training of graduates and interns wherever possible

General

  • Supports training sessions where relevant, with a view to maximising opportunities to expand team skills and grow revenues
  • Takes a proactive role in promoting the TEAM LEWIS brand, its identity, values and work
  • Supports the HR / talent team by promoting, both internally and externally, opportunities at TEAM LEWIS across social media and via the referral scheme
  • Maintains a detailed and up-to-date knowledge of industry (competitors’ and clients’) activities
  • Overall, acts as a guardian of best practice

About you

  • Demonstrable success at securing new business and account management
  • Highly commercial, with a proven track record of commercially impacting a business via lead generation and strategic client consultancy
  • Relevant experience of working in a B2B, corporate, consumer or digital communications agency environment
  • Has a solid understanding of the wider communications and marketing industry
  • Well versed in social media and the integrated selling of digital marketing within a wider communications context
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
