Purpose of the role

The Creative Director will collaborate with client leads and harness the Creative Services team (copywriters, art directors, videographers, animators) to conceive and deliver creative ideas and concepts, which will work across multiple channels, for client programs/campaigns, new business RFIs, credentials and pitches. The Creative Director will work closely with their peer on the West Coast to build powerful stories both editorially and visually. Delivering high impact work, the role will ensure the evolution of innovative storytelling at TEAM LEWIS.

The Creative Director will champion a collaborative, positive culture. They will forge strong relationships with colleagues across the network and be an active contributor to the success of the business. 

Key responsibilities

  • Take the lead on the output and realization of ideas for TEAM LEWIS’ clients; driver of excellence of creative thinking; push the boundaries of what is creatively possible
  • Bring the comms strategy to life creatively, ensuring that the creative concept can “live” and is effective across the various channels chosen for delivery
  • Understand and empathize with the audiences being targeted to deliver creative concepts that resonate and prompt the required response
  • Provide creative solutions in response to client and new business briefs; use creative expertise to interpret the strategic vision and make it tangible and deliverable
  • Work closely with client teams and, as appropriate, clients to provide added-value insight and counsel on creativity and what is possible
  • Facilitate client workshops on creative brand development and messaging
  • Ensure that all campaigns are fully integrated across earned and owned channels and are trackable and measurable
  • Enter (and win) awards for work
  • Play a key role on RFIs, credentials and pitches for clients, collaboratively developing the strategic insight, messaging and concepts from a creative viewpoint
  • Work as a creative “pitch doctor” on client proposals and pitches across the US
  • Work closely with new business teams on the creative elements of RFPs to help deliver impactful and memorable responses
  • Promote a culture of innovation and creativity for continuous creative improvement
  • Run internal training sessions to enhance creative thinking and skills; drive a commitment to excellent and pertinent storytelling
  • Help build a high calibre, talented and motivated team - nurturing and preserving the TEAM LEWIS culture
  • Act as a respected senior manager, helping to maximize strengths, improve weaknesses and support career development
  • Report regularly on the creative outcomes: the work, new creative techniques, commercial benefits, etc.,
  • Promote TEAM LEWIS externally through speaking engagements, articles and blogs on topics related to creativity
  • Overall, act as a guardian of best creative practice 

About you

  • Visionary and dexterous creative leader with the ability to inspire; passionate about your craft
  • Ability to lead the creative process from conceptualization to execution, translating ideas across multiple platforms
  • Up to date knowledge of creative processes, methodologies, principles and practices, plus core industry creative software
  • Strong consultancy and collaborative skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with a variety of stakeholders
  • Knowledge of different sectors and of communications specialties, e.g. b2b, Brand, Corporate; experience working across different sectors, e.g. PR, advertising and social
  • Demonstrable success at helping to win new business and increase client revenues
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and resources across engagements, meeting deadlines and budgets
