Marketing Manager, Australia

Purpose of the role

The Marketing Manager, Australia leads on all major Australian marketing activity including: branding, positioning, corporate messaging, lead generation and external communications. The Marketing Manager, Australia must effectively deliver both short and long-term marketing campaigns, working with the regional marketing team to achieve commercial goals.

Key responsibilities and tasks

Local marketing activity

  • Leads the planning and execution of all marketing activities in Australia
  • Actively researches and suggests ideas and opportunities to promote the company and services
  • Builds and maintains external relationships with journalists, partners, suppliers and other stakeholders/audiences
  • Supports the Australia leadership team (and wider regional leadership team) with prospect outreach
  • Participates in brainstorms and training sessions 

Advertising, events and sponsorship

  • Actively seeks opportunities to promote and benefit the agency
  • Liaises with internal stakeholders on topics, speakers, content and promotion/follow-ups
  • Works in partnership with regional marketing team on associated creative and collateral
  • Event management from speaker liaison to venue management
  • Manages costs and activity to ensure delivery is on-time and to budget

Content and PR

  • Creates original content in formats appropriate to the topic and audience
  • Manages blog content and contributor calendar for Australia, and wider region where necessary
  • Manages executive team speaking engagements
  • Manages award programme including identifying opportunities and the creation and submission of entries
  • Ensures there is a regular pipeline of news and announcements from the region, including drafting and approval process
  • Identifies and creates a regular pipeline of case studies for publication on external channels 

Direct mail outreach

  • Manages the production/creation of regular online and offline mailers
  • Suggests ideas for creative outreach campaigns
  • Segments and targets distribution lists, liaising with the Australian leadership team and APAC marketing team

 Online and social marketing

  • Drives Australian's social media marketing activity and ensure the region is well-represented
  • Manages SEO and SEM campaign support
  • Website editor for the Asia site 

Promotional materials and collateral

  • Ensures ample marketing supplies are available based on requirements
  • Identifies new requirements and provide solution ideas and costs
  • Manages printing/production of marketing collateral, sourcing quotes and liaising with designers and printers/suppliers as necessary 

Business development

  • Demonstrates solid knowledge of audience personas and recommend channels/tactics to target
  • Works closely with the Australian leadership team to ensure marketing is central to driving brand awareness and qualified leads
  • Monitors marketing qualified leads and flag/refer new business opportunities to senior team members 

Reporting and analysis

  • Compiles and interprets insights and data for regional and global marketing reports
  • Monitors campaign performance data and contributes to the marketing dashboard, including data such as website performance, mailers, events, advertising and social media activity
  • Monitors and analyses engagements on social media and responds as appropriate
  • Compiles ad-hoc reports and/or analysis as and when required
  • Manages budgets across campaigns 

Systems and administration

  • Be a super-user of the team’s major marketing tools for social media management, content management systems and email [namely SharpSpring and Wordpress]
  • Be a curator for the Marketing portal on One Drive to ensure it is a destination for the team to access current and correct assets and guides
  • Updates and maintains documents on the Marcomms server and other workspaces used by the team
  • Proactively helps to drive actions to ensure projects stay on-track
  • Manages administrative tasks for the team as appropriate

General

  • Supports the Senior Marketing Manager, APAC and the wider APAC marketing team on projects and initiatives e.g. announcements; collateral; social media and content creation
  • Be a cultural ambassador for the region and marketing; promoting initiatives internally and externally; showcasing activities and achievements on emails, calls and social media
  • Attends agency and industry events as appropriate to represent the agency
  • Seeks ways to increase knowledge for self-improvement and to improve the team’s ability to deliver results
  • Proactive suggestions for new processes and tools to improve efficiency and performance of the team

About you

  • Background in B2B marketing with strategic, analytical and evaluation skills
  • Ability to create plans, manage budgets and report on results
  • Team player and people person, with the ability to influence and form strong relationships
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • A ‘can do’, results-driven attitude
  • Calmness under pressure and ability to deliver to tight deadlines
  • Qualified within Marketing and or Communications (relevant degree/professional membership)
