TEAM LEWIS is seeking an experienced Senior Vice President to lead our PR division on the West Coast. This position is pivotal in the evolution of our US operation. The role has commercial responsibility and is part of the US senior management team. It reports into the Executive Vice President, US. Travel in the US region will be required and there will be occasional travel globally.

Purpose of the role
The role will work closely with the EVP, US and the US senior management team to drive the US strategic business plan. The SVP will help to ensure continued growth and profitability of the PR business, particularly of the core B2B tech business, but will also help to develop and grow other verticals and launch new practices, services and products. The role will lead and sponsor key US and multi-market clients, and provide strategic and creative consultancy to clients on their integrated marketing journey. In addition, the SVP will lead the San Diego office and be charged with championing a team working virtual and office culture while being hands on with people development.

Responsibilities include to:

  • Drive the development of the PR business on the West Coast, including setting commercial growth target
  • Be the senior lead on key US and multi-market clients, ensuring excellent and profitable service and delivery of results; provide strategic counsel to help retain and grow the clients
  • Ensure growth in client revenues, reviewing account profitability, taking action as required and driving plans for optimizing revenues
  • Lead (or oversee) credentials and pitches for US and multi-market prospects, developing the strategic insight, messaging and creative concepts
  • Build and retain a high calibre and motivated senior team; and inspire and nurture an excellent San Diego office culture
  • Develop strong relationships with key clients, prospect decision makers, key intermediaries and influencers to provide added-value strategic consultancy and initiatives for retention and organic growth
  • Ensure the delivery of excellent, consistent service and results to clients
  • Seek to secure new clients from the network; champion the cascading of US clients
  • Present the strategic face of the agency to external audiences through speaking opportunities, interviews with the media etc.,
  • Overall, be a collaborative, encouraging and supportive member of the US senior management team

About you

Highly commercial and with long-term strategic vision, you have experience of building and running a large PR practice/division or region. Your business network is strong and you have an impressive track record of winning and developing major blue-chip accounts as well as of retention and organic growth of existing clients. Considered, assertive and influential, you are an outstanding leader with the skills and aptitude to structure, develop and motivate a strong team, top to bottom. You have rounded communications experience across PR and strategic consultancy, with strong B2B (ideally tech) and consumer tech sector expertise, and a keen understanding of how to manage digital campaigns (social media, content, paid media, creative). Experience of working in a fast paced and international environment is essential.

 

Additional requirements:

  • Proven track record of exceeding goals and a bottom-line orientation; evidence of consistently making good decisions through a combination of analysis, experience and judgment
  • Knowledge of different sectors and communications specialisms; experience of B2B and some experience of the technology sector would be ideal
  • High level of business acumen, including successful P&L management
  • Ability to think strategically, anticipate future trends and potential pitfalls
  • Excel at managing and leading bright and ambitious senior people; a collaborative team builder who is able to instill accountability and empower people to succeed
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to problem solve, project manage and multi-task. Will take charge of a situation and act, taking unpopular stands when necessary
  • Integrity, humility, self-drive/initiative – and a sense of humor!
