Blockblocks Cleanup

Mission

What happens to the ocean impacts everyone, everywhere. Blockblocks Cleanup is a local initiative, that organizes monthly cleanups and garbage picking in Dusseldorf. Volunteers help free the banks of the river Rhine from garbage so that it does not end up in the ocean and cause harm.

Blockblocks also host lectures for companies and schools. These lectures provide crucial education on plastic waste and its impact on the environment.

Why it matters

Every single person on earth benefits from a clean ocean. It produces 50 percent of the air we breathe, the water we drink and the food we eat. The ocean is also very inspiring. Just think of majestic whales, graceful sea turtles, jaw-dropping waves or colorful coral reefs. The ocean touches our hearts like nothing else on this planet.
