Aiding in Cystic Fibrosis alleviation

Mission

The mission of Closing the Gap Foundation is to aid in Cystic Fibrosis (CF) alleviation and make a deeper impact for CF research. Through partnerships with research and lifestyle organizations, the foundation seeks to:

    1. Search for a cure
    2. Help provide higher quality of life for those affected with CF
    3. Educate the public about CF and its continued historic medical breakthroughs

The organization was founded in 2016, and became an official 501(c)3 non-profit in 2020. With this designation the organization is working to scale partnerships and opportunities to make a more sizable impact in raising awareness for Cystic Fibrosis.

Why It Matters

Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic, life-threatening disease which affects the lungs and digestive system and affects over 30,000 children and adults in the United States today. While there is currently no cure, because of improved medical advancements in recent years, people with CF can expect to live healthy, fulfilling lives into their 30s, 40s and beyond.

LEWIS recognizes the CF community as one of many greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and is proud to support Closing the Gap Foundation’s mission through its Causes program. Providing support during this time helps brings considerable encouragement to this brave community. Additionally, Closing the Gap Foundation is in earlier stages of development, making LEWIS’ expertise and support a tremendous help to the foundation’s growth.
