Mission
Ellenor Hospices, founded in Kent and Bexley, have a mission to lead and coordinate care for all ages. Sharing expertise to ensure that all families facing terminal illness get the right support in the best place possible, enabling them to make the most of the time they have. To do this, the charity ensures staff are professional, compassionate, patient and family-centered, and have a strong team ethos. It is the only charity in the county that provides hospice care for people of all ages. Care includes pain and symptom relief, palliative care, end of life care, respite, bereavement support and emotional and spiritual care.
Why it matters
This charity is important as it is a source of light in a very difficult time for local families. It is committed to ensuring that not only the patient is taken care of and as comfortable as can be, but also to provide emotional support to patients’ families. Sadly, this charity is likely to impact a huge number of people across the local community regardless of age, gender or background but everyone can feel comfortable that their loved ones are in safe hands. The charity is a key figure for the county and many schools frequently raise money to support the hospice, and their charity shops can be found on almost every high street.
