Mission
The Schneekönige e.V. was founded in October 2015 with the aim of fulfilling support-worthy wishes for homeless people in Munich.
People living on the street or in emergency accommodation/boarding houses are unfortunately often marginalized and usually have no one to make them happy. However, every adult, and especially people living on the margins of our society has unfulfilled dreams.
The fulfillment of such long-awaited and unforgettable experiences should give homeless people a zest for life and new self-confidence and show them that it is worth fighting for a better future. In addition to fulfilling wishes, we would like to give homeless people attention and respect through our association. Through this, those affected should experience first-hand the compassion and interest of their fellow human beings in their own person.
And especially in the current Corona crisis, food for the soul is particularly important.
Why is it important?
Our team at the LEWIS Munich loves their city with all its possibilities. While Munich is an incredible city, it is also an expensive one to live in and as a consequence, it is difficult to find affordable accommodation. Munich is insanely hard on people who don’t have a lot of money, especially when it comes to the housing market. There are many organizations that offer people food and shelter. However, it is rare to find one that also offers an opportunity for human connection. Especially now in times of the pandemic, many homeless people are isolated and need warmth and appreciation more than ever before. We are proud to support Schneeköngie e. V. It is a great organization not only gives the bare necessities but also fulfills heartfelt wishes that give new strength and hope.
