Making sure no-one goes hungry

Mission:

Willing Hearts was founded in 2005 by businessman Tony Tay, and is a secular, non-affiliated charity, that operates a soup kitchen that prepares, cooks, and distributes 9,500+ daily meals to over 40 locations island-wide, 365 days a year.

Their mission to is to provide daily meals and other support services to the underprivileged, the needy, and other marginalized members in Singapore, and to assist and guide them towards rehabilitating and reinstating themselves as useful members of our society.

Wholly run by volunteers, apart from a handful of staff, Willing Hearts today reaches out to 5,000+ beneficiaries that include the elderly, the disabled, low-income families, children from single-parent families, poverty-stricken families, and migrant workers in Singapore.

Why It Matters:

Access to quality, nutritious food is fundamental to human existence. Due to medical or financial reasons, some are unable to cook for themselves. With such a lively food culture in Singapore, Willing Hearts believes in supporting and fostering an inclusive community there, where no one, especially the needy, goes home hungry every day.

In the past year, due to the impact of the pandemic, more people are relying on Willing Hearts and their team of volunteers for help. LEWIS recognizes the increase in demand for local food distribution and the support needed by Willing Hearts. We are proud to contribute our part to help those in need.

“I first got to know about Willing Hearts through a client, who is a regular volunteer at their soup kitchen. I find the work done by Willing Hearts very meaningful and it’s heartwarming to know that we’re able to help the organization move one small step closer to fulfilling its mission.” Camy Cheng, Account Director, LEWIS Singapore.
