As the end of my six-month internship at TEAM LEWIS draws near, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on the journey and growth I’ve experienced and share those reflections with you in this blog. When I first applied, I was still relatively fresh out of graduation and in the middle of the job search spiral, naturally feeling that mix of excitement and uncertainty about what direction to take. With a degree in Leisure and Event Management, a minor in Branding, and some scattered experiences in events and internal branding, I had a strong sense that this was the field I wanted to pursue. So, when I stumbled upon the account servicing vacancy at TEAM LEWIS, it felt like the perfect place to start.
The role promised exposure to PR and social media- an account servicing role that touches upon every moving part of agency life. From client management and media relations to content creation and reporting, I was super eager to gain experience across the board. While that alone was enough to spark my interest, it was the interview process that truly convinced me. The open, energetic atmosphere gave me an authentic glimpse into the TEAM LEWIS’ culture, and looking back now, that first impression was spot on. From day one, I felt welcomed with warmth and trust, which made it easy to adapt, learn, and build confidence in myself.
Over the past six months, I’ve had the opportunity to work across a diverse mix of accounts-from a global sportswear brand to aviation and even cybersecurity (which, if I’m honest, isn’t exactly my passion, but exposure is growth!!). Each account comes with its own pace and challenges, which has pushed me to stay flexible and think on my feet. In the beginning, the fast tempo of agency life felt overwhelming- balancing deadlines, client requests, and internal updates often left me questioning if I could keep up. But as I’ve adjusted, I’ve come to appreciate just how dynamic and rewarding the role is. No two days are ever the same: while mornings often start with scanning the news, the rest of the day might be filled with drafting campaign briefs, conducting media outreach, or supporting event activations. I love how this job constantly keeps me on my toes!

One area where I’ve seen the most growth is in client servicing. In the beginning, I would sit quietly in meetings, mostly listening and trying to take everything in. After expressing that I wanted to improve in this area, I was encouraged to step up – particularly with adidas. Now, I take part in meetings, provide regular updates, and handle direct communication with the client. It’s been daunting at times, but my teammates have been incredibly supportive throughout. Stepping into this space has pushed me out of my comfort zone, helped me build trust, and sharpened my communication skills. Most importantly, it’s given me a new sense of confidence in my own abilities.
Beyond client work, one of the most meaningful parts of my internship has been contributing to the TEAM LEWIS Foundation. The company’s commitment to giving back and supporting causes around the world really stood out to me. Each employee has the chance to nominate an organization of their choice to receive a $1,000 grant, along with guidance and support from the agency. I truly appreciate how TEAM LEWIS not only supports this but also actively encourages employees to lead with cause and give back to people. Having the opportunity to contribute to something bigger than client campaigns reminds me to stay grounded in what really matters. It’s easy to get caught up in the motion of everyday work, but initiatives like the TEAM LEWIS Foundation show that our work can create a positive impact that extends beyond business. That perspective has been both humbling and inspiring, and it’s reminded me just how much culture and values matter in a workplace.

Reflecting on this journey, I’m amazed at how much has changed in just six months. I came in nervous and unsure of myself, but now I feel like I’ve done a full 180- believing more in my own abilities and contributing to campaigns I’m genuinely excited about. This internship has been such a great way to get my foot into the world of PR, and what I value most is how TEAM LEWIS never expects you to come in with everything figured out. Instead, they’re willing to mould you into a professional, putting faith in your potential rather than just your experience. That trust has given me the space to explore what excites me, push past my comfort zone, and grow in ways I never expected. For anyone looking to break into PR, I couldn’t recommend this experience enough!
