👯 TikTok introduces Shared Feeds and Collections

TikTok is rolling out new features designed to make the app a more social experience for inner circles. The platform has introduced “Shared Collections,” allowing users to save and organize videos together, perfect for planning that next trip or sharing home decor inspo.

But that’s not all. They are also launching “Shared Feed,” a collaborative, interest-based feed that lives directly in your DMs. It curates videos tailored to the combined tastes of you and your friends. For brands, this signals a shift towards “dark social” and private sharing. Content that sparks conversation between friends is now more valuable than ever.

Read the full breakdown on the TikTok newsroom.

♻️ Instagram allows resharing of ALL public Stories

It’s the feature we didn’t know we needed until we got it. Instagram now allows users to reshare any public Story to their own Story, even if they aren’t tagged in it.

Previously, you had to be mentioned to hit that “Add to Story” button. Now, if a profile is public and hasn’t opted out, you can amplify their content directly. This is a massive win for User Generated Content (UGC) and community building, making it easier for brands to share customer love without needing the customer to tag them first.

Check the details on Social Media Today before your feed fills up with reshares.

💼 The most important LinkedIn update in 10 years?

If you’ve been scrolling through LinkedIn lately, you might have noticed things look… different. The platform is undergoing what some are calling its most significant shift in a decade.

From the way video is prioritized to how the algorithm treats “knowledge” versus “virality,” the rules of engagement are changing. It’s no longer just about likes; it’s about depth and retention. If you are still playing by the 2024 rulebook, you are already behind. Zayd Syed Ali breaks down exactly why this update matters and how it changes the trajectory of the platform.

🇪🇺 Meta offers “Less Personalised Ads” in the EU

Navigating the GDPR and Digital Markets Act (DMA) landscape continues to be a headache for Meta. In a new move to comply with EU regulations, Meta is introducing a “Less Personalised Ads” option for users in Europe.

This creates a third tier for users: pay for no ads, consent to personalized ads, or choose this new “lite” version where ads are based only on context (what you are looking at now) rather than your long-term history. For advertisers targeting the EU, this might mean a slight dip in targeting precision for a segment of the audience, but it keeps the inventory open.

🦘 Australia’s social media ban for minors: Influence on the move

Australia is hitting the brakes on social media for anyone under 16. With the ban looming, it’s not just a local issue. It’s a global signal that EU marketers with APAC interests need to watch closely.

While this removes a specific demographic from the traditional targeting pool, it doesn’t mean the audience vanishes, they just shift. As our own Alex Robinson (Head of Creative & Content in the land of Oz) from TEAM LEWIS points out: “Kids won’t disappear. Influence won’t disappear. It’ll just move, and brands will need to move with it.”

It is time to rethink your channel mix. Whether it’s gaming environments, different digital avenues, or targeting the parental gatekeepers, the strategy has to evolve to follow the influence.
