✏️ Instagram confirms editing doesn’t hurt

After years of requests and uncertainty from users, Instagram has officially confirmed what we content marketers have hoped for: editing a post after publishing it will not affect its reach. So, from now on, we can feel perfectly comfortable correcting that small typo without fear of penalization.

🎼 A musical twist in Instagram Stories

Instagram is enhancing its integration with Spotify, making it easier for users to share their favourite tunes in Stories, Notes, and messages. You can now share what you’re listening to on Spotify directly to Stories—offering another way to engage with music within the app. WhatsApp introduced a similar feature for its Stories format, WhatsApp Status, just last month.

This new option adds another tool in the race to compete with TikTok’s growing influence and could potentially fill the gap if TikTok were ever banned (but more on that later).

🤖 WhatsApp catches you up with AI Summaries

Catching up on group chats can be a challenge. WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature that uses AI to summarize your private messages, so you can quickly get up to speed without scrolling through hundreds of messages.
This could be a game-changer for how we manage our digital conversations—and our time. Be honest, we all have those endless group chats. 😉

👀 Threads filters out unwanted content

In a move to create a safer online environment, Threads is introducing a “hidden words” filter—a feature that’s been available on Instagram for some time. This allows users to filter out replies that contain specific words, phrases, or emojis, giving them more control over their online experience.

With this move, Threads continues to differentiate itself from Instagram, establishing its own identity.

📉 The future of TikTok: a potential sale

With a potential ban looming in the US, the future of TikTok remains uncertain. CNN explores the potential buyers who could take over the popular video-sharing app. The outcome of a sale could significantly reshape the social media landscape. And let’s not forget the current extension is set to expire on September 17. Will they by(t)e the dance?
