🤖 Meta says ‘No Thanks’ to EU’s voluntary AI code

Meta has announced that it will not be signing the European Union’s voluntary AI Code of Practice. The company cited concerns that the code introduces legal uncertainties and goes beyond the scope of the EU’s AI Act. 🧠 Study finds 72% of US teens have used AI companions

According to a new study, nearly three-quarters of US teens (aged 13–17) have interacted with AI chatbots designed for social and conversational use. While many teens turn to these digital companions out of curiosity or for fun, a significant portion use them for emotional support or to practice social interactions. 🎉 Get ready for new emojis on your iPhone

Ready to level up your emoji game? The Unicode Consortium has approved a new batch of emojis that will be coming to iOS. The new set, part of Unicode 17.0, includes additions like an apple core, an orca, a trombone, and a treasure chest. However, don’t expect to see them in the initial release of iOS 26. Apple typically takes a few months to design its own versions of new emojis, so they will likely appear in a subsequent update to the operating system.

📸 Instagram tests frame-by-frame like counts for carousels

Instagram is testing a new feature that will display the number of likes on each frame within a carousel post. This could provide valuable insights for content creators, allowing them to see which specific images or videos in a series are resonating most with their audience. The like count would be attributed to the frame that was on screen when the user hit the like button. This update could help creators refine their content strategy and create more engaging carousel posts.
