🛡️ TikTok Wants You to ‘Be Cyber Smart’

With online scam losses hitting a record $16.6 billion in 2024, TikTok is launching a new “Be Cyber Smart” campaign. As part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the platform is rolling out 8-bit computer game-themed video tips on its TikTokTips account, focusing on essentials like strong passwords, two-factor authentication, and avoiding phishing scams. TikTok also notes it is taking more action to remove spam accounts and content.

🎨 Pinterest Boards Get a Major AI Upgrade

Pinterest is introducing new AI-powered upgrades, transforming its boards from simple organizational tools into a more personalized way to browse, refine your taste, and shop. The updated boards will feature a fresh look and new tabs based on your saved Pins. These include a “Make it yours” tab for fashion and home decor, a “More ideas” tab for related Pin recommendations, and an “All saves” tab for your existing content.

📌 LinkedIn Quietly Removes ‘Pin Post’ for Company Pages

Heads up, social media managers! LinkedIn seems to have quietly removed the “pin post” feature for company pages. If you used this function to keep flagship posts like announcements or key messaging visible, you can no longer do so. This change means you’ll need to rethink your content strategy, as “Featured posts” or top visuals might become more important. It looks like evergreen content and strong visuals will get more weight moving forward.

Instagram Finally Adds a ‘Watch History’ for Reels

Have you ever tried to find a Reel you watched but couldn’t remember to save? Instagram is finally rolling out a “Watch History” feature for Reels, similar to TikTok’s functionality. This new option, found within your “Your Activity” settings, allows you to look back at the clips you’ve viewed. It’s a small but valuable addition, though it appears to only cover the last 30 days of your watch history.

Find out how to access it at Social Media Today.

👻 Threads Tests Disappearing ‘Ghost Posts’

Threads is introducing “ghost posts,” a new feature for sharing thoughts that are automatically archived after 24 hours. You can create one by toggling the new “ghost” icon. The biggest change? Replies to these posts are sent directly to the poster’s DMs and do not appear in the timeline. While others can see that people have replied, only the poster can see the actual number of likes and replies. Meta says the feature is designed to encourage more “low-stakes sharing.”
