📈 TikTok’s EU Growth is No Joke

TikTok just released its latest transparency report for the EU, and the numbers are staggering. The platform has reached 178 million monthly active users in the EU alone, a jump of 8 million since just the first half of 2025. While the app is getting better at moderation (automatically removing 93.8% of violating content) the sheer scale of its growth shows that TikTok’s influence in the European market is only getting stronger.

🤖 LinkedIn: The New Favorite for AI Citations

Move over Wikipedia; LinkedIn is now the #2 most cited source by AI tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity. According to a study by SEMRush, LinkedIn trails only Reddit in AI citations. Interestingly, out of 19,000 LinkedIn sources cited, over 15,000 were LinkedIn Articles, showing that long-form, professional content is exactly what AI models are looking for to provide expert answers. As Google search traffic to traditional publishers drops, LinkedIn is quietly becoming the backbone of the AI knowledge economy.

🖼️ Instagram Finally Lets You Edit Your Grid Thumbnails

Social media managers, rejoice! Instagram has officially launched the ability to edit your thumbnail images for your profile grid. You can now choose exactly which part of a photo or Reel appears in your profile view, giving you ultimate control over your aesthetic. This is a game-changer for brands that want a perfectly curated look without worrying about awkward automatic cropping.

🔎 Google Makes Room for Competitors in EU Search

Following pressure from the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA), Google has started placing competitors higher in search results. In certain searches (like those for shopping or local services) you’ll now see links to other comparison sites or platforms more prominently. This shift aims to level the playing field, making organic visibility for non-Google platforms a bit easier to achieve in the European market.
