Five finalists have been announced for the Suzy Spirit Award 2018. Now in its fifth year, the annual award is part of the PRmoment award line-up. The winner will be announced at the London awards ceremony on March 22 at the Park Plaza Westminster.

Judges and organizers of the award would like to thank all those who submitted nominations, and were sincerely moved by the inspirational and compassionate responses.

The finalists for the 2018 Suzy Spirit Award are:

  • Andy Garner, Mischief PR
  • Sadie Groom, Bubble
  • Caroline Kinsey, Cirkle
  • Emma Lloyd, TLC Marketing
  • Sarah Pinch, Pinch Point Communications

“It’s fantastic to see the award going from strength to strength every year. This year we received some very high calibre entries including candidates from all over the UK, in-house and agency, and from those early on in their career to people with many years of experience,” said Sally O’Neill, VP International at LEWIS and one of the judges. “It’s impressive to hear about these unsung heroes that are inspiring people in and outside of work every day. Given many don’t even know they’ve been nominated by a friend or colleague, it’s equally pleasing to learn of their surprise at being recognized for what they see as normal behavior. This truly reflects the ‘Suzy spirit’ we’re looking for.”

Last year’s winners were Emma Tweedie, Director at Teacake Tuesday, who became the first recipient of the Suzy Spirit Inspiration Award and Euan Steedman, now International Press Officer at CNN, who received the Rising Star Award. Both winners were praised by the judges during the award ceremony for their ability to inspire and bring the best out of others without expecting anything in return, as well as showing dedication and commitment to local communities and causes.

The award was originally launched in 2012 in honor of Suzy Ferguson, a former employee at LEWIS who sadly passed away from bowel cancer. In memory of Suzy, the award seeks to recognise exceptional and inspiring individuals working in the PR and Communications industry. As part of the award, a donation is also made to Bowel Cancer UK, supporting vital research and lifesaving work to stop bowel cancer.
