Audience Understanding Through UX Research
Challenge
Lucid Motors wanted to make its website and car configurator easier to navigate for customers. The company partnered with TEAM LEWIS to discover how potential customers perceived its online car configurator and brand website in comparison to competitors’ configurators and websites.
Approach
We created a custom methodology to understand the ease of finding relevant information, the impact on brand perceptions, how individuals use the configurator, and common pain points. The team conducted 80 online interviews using this custom methodology on the websites and car configurators of Lucid Motors and three competitors.
Results
The team compiled the findings into video highlight reels, charts, and slide decks that were presented to multiple executive teams. Lucid Motors used the research findings to brainstorm and inform changes to its website and car configurator tool to better suit potential customers.
