Establishing a Threat Intelligence Thought Leader

Challenge

Following its in-depth analysis and findings around the DNC hack, and other high-profile hacks like the 2018 Winter Olympics and World Anti-Doping Association, LEWIS helped ThreatConnect to establish its role as a go-to source for threat intel in the US and around the globe. The next challenge? LEWIS needed to showcase the value ThreatConnect’s in-depth analysis and intelligence could provide to organizations of all sizes, not just large enterprises and government agencies.

Approach

ThreatConnect commissioned a survey with LEWIS to showcase the ROI of threat intelligence programs and help make the Threat Intelligence Platform (TIP) a line item within companies’ budgets. The survey polled cybersecurity decision makers and addressed:

  • The time, investment and training it takes to build a sophisticated threat intelligence program
  • The impact on the business, including blocked threats that would have cost businesses significant sums of money
  • The need for more public/private sharing of threat intelligence data

Results

Using the unique data and insights from the survey, LEWIS helped build ThreatConnect’s brand equity with influencers, customers, partners and media. The results included a thought leadership campaign that drove 13 pieces of tier-one coverage, a media tour for threat intelligence expert Toni Gidwani with six tier-one journalists (Forbes, SC Magazine, The Wall Street Journal Europe, ZDNet, IBT) and national briefings around the research. The report also serves as a viable asset for sales purposes to demonstrate the overall value of Threat Intelligence Platforms for companies of all sizes and across industries.
