LEWIS, the global communications agency, has appointed James Smee into a new role of Director, EMEA Digital Marketing. Smee was one of the founders of the award-winning digital marketing agency LEWIS Purestone, which was acquired by LEWIS in 2014. The appointment demonstrates LEWIS’ continued investment in growing and expanding its digital marketing capabilities in EMEA.

LEWIS is seeing strong demand for fully-integrated marketing and communications campaigns, as well as strategic marketing and brand development projects. Smee will be the strategic lead on international digital marketing clients and also responsible for business development for digital marketing in EMEA. Smee will be based in London, UK, and report to Daniel Cohen, SVP EMEA Brand.

LEWIS has established a 60 person digital marketing practice in EMEA, providing clients with award-winning campaigns and services including lead generation, brand identity and development, analytics, SEO, social media, digital advertising, app development, and enterprise web design and build. The agency has delivered digital marketing services to brands including Adidas Taylor-Made, Alexander Mann Solutions, Linklaters, Octopus Investments, PayPal, and Verify.

James Smee, Director, EMEA Digital Marketing, said, “Over the last three years with LEWIS Purestone, I have seen the increasing demand for more integrated services. The depth and breadth of services at LEWIS combined with its proposition is unique within the market.  There’s a very real opportunity to drive our digital marketing practice across EMEA.”

Daniel Cohen, SVP EMEA Brand, LEWIS added: “James has two decades of experience delivering digital marketing campaigns for clients including adidas, ASOS, Boots, NatWest and PayPal. I am looking forward to working together to deliver ground breaking work for our clients.”
