URIACH: INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION

Healthcare media relations

Driving international expansion

Uriach, a family-owned pharmaceutical company dedicated to improving people’s health, quality of life and wellbeing around the world, entrusts TEAM LEWIS with managing its communications and media relations at national level.

Over the years working together, TEAM LEWIS improved, strengthened and managed Uriach’s corporate communications, and we continue to build the most effective strategies to keep the company one step ahead.

During this period, Uriach and TEAM LEWIS faced a very interesting challenge. The pharmaceutical company began its international expansion journey by acquiring Laborest, an Italian company focused on producing food supplements. Laborest was very well positioned in Italy but did not yet have a presence in the media.

Uriach’s communications team and TEAM LEWIS decided to use the backdrop of CPHI, one of the most important conferences in the pharmaceutical industry, to announce this milestone in the development of the business. The challenge was to do so almost simultaneously in both countries, avoiding potential confusion and acquisition-related issues or crises, while also highlighting the importance of the expansion for both Uriach and Laborest.

To achieve this, two press conferences were held on the same day (Madrid in the morning and Barcelona in the afternoon), and a video conference was organized between Uriach (from Barcelona) and the Italian media (previously invited by the TEAM LEWIS Italy team to a hotel in Milan). Another example of the importance of efficient international coordination.
